Pulling: Series One on DVD

The first series of critically acclaimed cutting-edge comedy Pulling is released on DVD on 7th April 2008 by BBC DVD. Superbly written, directed and acted, the BAFTA nominated Pulling takes a long, hard look at sex, love and friendship.

Donna (Sharon Horgan – Annually Retentive, Broken News) isn't dull, she isn't ordinary and she's definitely meant for big things in life, so dumping her ultra-dependable and slightly beige fiancé Karl (Cavan Clerkin – Pierrepoint, Smack The Pony) just days before their wedding isn't such a major thing for her.

Sadly, though, it is for Karl and this unceremonious rejection is just about enough to catapult him head first into a spiral of suicidal depression.

With a new-found optimism, Donna moves in with her single friends, Karen (Tanya  Franks – Eastenders, Family Affairs) and Louise (Rebekah Staton –State of Play, Mysterious Creatures), in "lovely" Penge. So it's the three girls together, sharing a place, sharing the most exciting year of their lives. Almost.

Then there's Karl. Well, just because you dump someone two days before the wedding doesn't mean you don't care about them...

Pulling was written by Olivier nominated Dennis Kelly (Love and Money, The Colony, Monkey Dust) and Sharon Horgan (Angelo’s, Monkey Dust, The Pilot Show). Reflecting her comedy pedigree Sharon was nominated in the Best Female Comedy Newcomer category of the British Comedy Awards and was a nominee for this year’s The South Bank Show Breakthrough Award.

The second series of Pulling is set to launch on BBC Three this March.

Extras: Audio commentaries with Sharon Horgan, Dennis Kelly, Tristram Shapeero (Director) and Phil Bowker (Producer) on episodes 1 & 2. Interviews with cast and crew plus deleted scenes and a behind the scenes.
