An Audience With Dudley Moore
Dudley Moore was one of the UK’s finest comedians. His long-running partnership with Peter Cook cemented them in comic history and raised the bar for their contemporaries at home and abroad.
Unfortunately his solo film career was at times lacklustre, for every hit like 10 and Arthur, Moore churned out some poor quality fare that tarnished his legacy. Luckily here we see that re-addressed, with the diminutive Essex lad on fine form as he takes his turn to host his own An Audience With special. Filmed in 1981, this DVD release presents this classic program in its entirety.
With an eager audience of his peers, the talented musician and raconteur breezes from anecdote to story, via the odd musical interlude with ease. Yes, the comedy has dated somewhat, the stars featured have all faded into various degrees of obscurity and the man himself is now sadly long gone, but as a testament to the talents of Dudley Moore and his undoubted status as a legend, this is a wonderful addition to any fan's collection.
