Trinny and Susannah return to Undress The Nation
Coming soon to ITV1, Trinny and Susannah are once again going nationwide with a brand new assault on five style issues facing British women today with Series Two of Trinny & Susannah Undress The Nation.
After triumphing last year when facing major dress challenges such as age, breasts, shape, men and uniform, this time they turn their attention to the country’s bottoms, as well as how to be glamorous, how to shop successfully, the clothing difficulties facing plus size women, and how to wear colour as they attempt to brighten up Britain.
In Bottoms, Trinny and Susannah believe British women need to learn to love their bums and take eight women, who can’t bear the sight of their own behinds, on a journey of bottom discovery. Their first step is to have their despised derrieres cast, by a sculptor, in bronze then Trinny and Susannah and the women get up close and personal with their bottoms when they are put on display in a London gallery.
Trinny and Susannah also want to teach British ladies to become more glamorous. Tired of seeing women opting for comfort over style in tracksuits and dull, dreary, shapeless clothes, the girls take on the challenge of making over an entire team of factory workers to show them they can be glamorous every day, rather than just on special occasions.
From women whose wardrobes are overflowing with items bought but never worn, to ladies who hate buying for themselves, the inability to shop successfully is also on the Trinny and Susannah style agenda. The girls decide literally to set up shop to show us how it’s really done.
In the last series, the girls challenged a supermarket chain to redesign their unflattering uniforms. This time, the girls train their style campaign sights on high street retailers and their plus size clothing ranges. Often limited to a few items, larger women are poorly catered for in the fashion stakes, argue Trinny and Susannah.
They head to Boston, in Lincolnshire, where students from the London College of Fashion help them design a new range of plus size outfits for larger ladies.
Finally, Trinny and Susannah want to brighten up Britain. As a nation we wear a lot of black, or dark colours. The girls tackle our fear of colour with their own colour clinic to show the range of shades that suit each type of person’s colouring. They also hop aboard a specially designed yellow double-decker bus and tour the streets of London encouraging the city’s citizens to brighten up.
